Apple is making huge waves in the online streaming of music.
Simplify the process, make the competitors pay more.
Apple is working with federal oversight in making streaming music royalties simple; 9.1 cents for every 100 times a song is played.
Big Deal?
Well, not to the musicians.
However, it could be crushing to its online arch enemy, Spotify.
This would fundamentally change the way they charge and do business.
The result? A much larger hold on the streaming music industry.
Like Amazon, Apple can work for pennies, fractional pennies if it ensures the market share they want.
Remember, Apple is in the information business, not the music business.
Spotify, simply cannot compete with that model.
